Guenter Baumgartner began his career at Siemens in 1990 as a marketing specialist for architectural lighting systems. He then gathered several years of experience in trade marketing and communications. In addition to marketing management and communication projects for various industry business units in the years that followed, he headed his first and local communications and marketing projects in China. He expanded his wealth of experience with activities in the regions USA and South America. In 1998, he transferred to Siemens Corporate Communications at corporate headquarters in Munich, where he was responsible for the corporate advertising campaign. Furthermore, he was in charge of vocational seminars on “Advertising conception and briefing” and also assumed an advisory capacity. In 2001, he was appointed global head of communications of the Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution Group. He held this post until 2007. Following the restructuring of Siemens AG into three Sectors in 2007, he has served the Energy Sector as Vice President of Market Communications till January 2012.
From February 2012 onwards he took over the assignment to head the communications for Siemens in the Middle East as well as the UAE (United Arab Emirates) located in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
He then travelled on to Switzerland where he took over as Head of Communications for the Division Building Technologies in September 2014.
